Me mother ran a boarding house,

And all the sailors were out to sea,

A fresh young fellow called Shallo Brown
Hullabalou belay….
He followed me mother all ’round the town,
Hullabalou belay.

One day when my father was on “The Crown”….
Me mother ran off with Shallo Brown….

Me father said. “Young man, me boy,”….
To which I quickly made reply ….

He wrote her a letter and in it he said….
If she didn’t come back he’d soon be dead….

My father slowly pined away ….
Me mother came back the very next day ….

Me mother still runs the boarding house ….
And Shallo Brown is her new spouse ….
